On October 2nd 2013, Commissioner Shri Jeevanji Sonawane and Deputy Commissioner Shri Deepak Kadam visited our hospital premises.
5 yr old mentally Challenged orphan child living in remand home, Bhiwandi considered
Blind by both eyes was examined at our hospital and diagnosed to have bilateral congenital
cataract. She underwent both eye cataract surgery on.26th June 2013. Following surgery child
has gained good working vision.
On occiasion 'Drushtidan Day' (Eye Donation Day), 10 june 2013 SBCEH recieved an honour for
doing outstanding work for national blindness prevention programme from Deputy Director Health
Services, health department Thane.

We have conducted 6 Eye Camps in Bhiwandi & nearby areas such as Payegaon, Policeline, NES School, Bhagini Nevedeti Utkarsh Mandal & Balak Ashram School in Aangaon, The total number of patients screened was 219, out of which 19 cataract surgeries were conducted & rest with refractive errors were prescribed spectacles.
Started ‘School Screening Camp’ with the Initiative of Minhaj Educational & Welfare Trust at Bhiwandi.

Jan 2013 to June 2013:
We have screened 15840 no of patient in OPD out of which 786 patient were operated with 98
patients being in pediatric age group (less than 16yrs old).
5 yrs old Fatima bano Ansari From Azad nagar bhiwandi Having Tumer in her LE was Operated for Artificial Eye Implant In the Month of Feb 2015.
7 yrs Old Mashira Sheikh From bhiwandi lost her RE Deu to heavy Fever was operated for Re Artificial Eye Implant In the Month of Feb 2015.
A baby boy of 12 Months, Ayush Vishwakarma, Mulund was operated on 24th September 2013 for Glaucoma Valve Implant.
A pediatric patient from rural area of Wada was operated on 2nd October 2013 with the help of Impact India Foundation.
